The creative programme was filled to the brim with Educational Theatre, storytelling and Doodling with the theme “SUPERHERO”. “We want to teach our children how important it is to acknowledge the superheroes in our lives. They come in all shapes and sizes and more often than not without the cape or flying car. We forget the work that goes into filling the big shoes of a mom, dad or ugogo. Financial Aid during a world pandemic. With the world in the state that it is in with Covid-19. We have not been able to continue our creative programmes that we had planned for the year ahead. However, as lockdown bans start to lift we hope to start implementing processes to keep moving forward. We are always looking towards the private sector to support us where possible. One positive story to come out of this hard time, is that we have been able to assist our beneficiaries financials. The children’s home, Oasis Haven has been under immense pressure in looking after our Little Doodlers. But, due to our incredible sponsors, donors and volunteers over the years we have been able to aid our children financially. Sharing Good News with 900 learners!

900 Learners at the Hawk Academy School - celebrating Nelson Mandela's 100th anniversary Doodle Your Future was invited to share good news stories and doodling with 900 learners at the Hawk Academy school in Germiston, Gauteng. The children enjoyed a memorable day while celebrating Nelson Mandela’s 100th anniversary. Hosted by the Abcon Group Foundation (AGF) who adopted the school in 2013 and run by the Pride Factor life skills academy who invited us to join in and celebrate the special day. The day was jam packed with a wide range of inspirational activities such as song, dance, doodling, Edu theatre, motivational messages and celebrity appearances while the library was painted by volunteers. Our first ever Doodle Your Future #1Book1day creative programme. 15 Little Doodlers (the orphaned and vulnerable children of Oasis Haven) were all part of creating a “Proudly South African” good news story from beginning to end. The premise behind the Give and Grow #1Book1Day Creative Programme is to write, doodle, digitally design and prepare for print, one proudly South African good news story in one day. With our incredible team of professional doodle volunteers, we wrote and doodled the story of Oasis Haven, the home of our Little Doodlers, to share the magic and wonderful things they do in the lives of these children.
