Financial Aid during a world pandemic. With the world in the state that it is in with Covid-19. We have not been able to continue our creative programmes that we had planned for the year ahead. However, as lockdown bans start to lift we hope to start implementing  processes to keep moving forward. We are always looking towards the private sector to support us where possible. One positive story to come out of this hard time, is that we have been able to assist our beneficiaries financials. The children’s home, Oasis Haven has been under immense pressure in looking after our Little Doodlers. But, due to our incredible sponsors, donors and volunteers over the years we have been able to aid our children financially. The Benefits of Educational Theatre and the Impact that it has on Children

The power of being allowed to 'speak out' is something that builds our confidence and understanding of freedom as we navigate our way through this confusing world of varied culture, religion, value systems, and moral guidelines. The huge dilemma that parents may face when raising their children is the dilemma of teaching them to tell the truth AND to find their sense of belonging in society. This is a paradox. In order to fit into society and belong is paramount to human survival. Telling the truth may result in losing the comfort and safety that belonging brings. Being left out in the cold for telling the truth as you see it, being ostracised from the very foundation that brought you into the world can be enormously painful. Clan betrayal is one of the worst kinds…

Tammany Barton as Miss Positive Pants Doodle Your Future was invited to share their creativity with the children of employees at MMI Holdings in Centurion. The creative programme was filled to the brim with Educational Theatre, storytelling and Doodling with the theme “SUPERHERO”. “We want to teach our children how important it is to acknowledge the superheroes in our lives. They come in all shapes and sizes and more often than not without the cape or flying car. We forget the work that goes into filling the big shoes of a mom, dad or ugogo. We wanted the children to appreciate and understand how lucky they are to have loving caring parents. There are many children out there who don’t have the luxury of this family bond and love.” Miss…

Our first ever Doodle Your Future #1Book1day creative programme. 15 Little Doodlers (the orphaned and vulnerable children of Oasis Haven) were all part of creating a “Proudly South African” good news story from beginning to end. The premise behind the Give and Grow #1Book1Day Creative Programme is to write, doodle, digitally design and prepare for print, one proudly South African good news story in one day. With our incredible team of professional doodle volunteers, we wrote and doodled the story of Oasis Haven, the home of our Little Doodlers, to share the magic and wonderful things they do in the lives of these children. Our #1Book1Day creative programme was sponsored by our amazing Doodle Heroes, Randcivils! Thank you for being part of helping us write, doodle and share these stories,…

Developmental Benefits of Art Motor Skills: Many of the motions involved in making art, such as holding a paintbrush or scribbling with a crayon, are essential to the growth of fine motor skills in young children. Developmental milestones around age three should include drawing a circle and beginning to use safety scissors. Around age four, children may be able to draw a square and begin cutting straight lines with scissors. Many preschool programmes emphasise the use of scissors because it develops the dexterity children will need for writing. Language Development: For very young children, making art—or just talking about it—provides opportunities to learn words for colours, shapes and actions. When toddlers are as young as a year old, parents can do simple activities such as crumpling up paper and calling it a…
